The Green Party is horrified by proposed changes affecting the offshore taxation regime for New Zealand companies, and we will oppose these moves - and vote against this Bill - every step of the way.
Predictions from prestigious Australian research institute CSIRO that petrol could cost up to AUS$8 – about NZ$10 – per litre within a decade means we need to rapidly change course to avoid serious economic disarray.
Government's transport plan based on petrol at $1 per litre.
Plans to spend 230 times more on roads than on cycle and walking.
The Greens have succeeded with improvements in Emissions Trading legislation at select committee stage and voted for the Bill to return to the House for further consideration. More change needed before we can support the final stages.
The Greens are encouraging New Zealand business leaders to take heed of Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's advice that New Zealand business should embrace the opportunity to be part of the global environmental revolution.
