James is a self employed permaculture orchardist and maths tutor.
James has a Certificate of Maori Studies, a Bachelor of Communications (digital multimedia) and a Graduate Diploma of Secondary Teaching.
James is a member of local community ratepayers group board. He is a board member of Living Economies, who advocate for national complementary currency. James is a advocate on community gardens and local development issues. He also coaches soccer, and is a student activist group facilitator.
James has a strong interest in primary production, especially agriculture and horticulture. These fields also lead him to an interest in energy and peak oil, permaculture economics and transition towns.
