I believe that I could make a real difference as a Green MP. I would bring to the role a fresh perspective and energy, strong negotiation skills and a love of working with people from all walks of life. Working within government over the past year has only reaffirmed my decision to stand as a candidate.



Background

In 1992 Rick emigrated to New Zealand from Georgia, USA. Despite overseas excursions working with non-governmental organisations, he is proud to call New Zealand 'home'. Rick was a project Coordinator with Médecins Sans Frontières and has also been a Business and Life Coach, Business

Achievements

Rick is the Ministerial Advisor to Jeanette Fitzsimons on Energy Efficiency and Conservation. He holds a Masters in Renewable Energy, a Diploma in Robotics and Automation Technology, and NZ Electrical Certs A & B.

Community involvements

Rick has been president and done other committee roles for Toastmasters, and is involved with NZ Opera, Howick Little Theatre, Dolphin Theatre, and Various Hindu organisations.

Interests/Hobbies

Rick has a keen interest in Foreign Affairs, Defense, Human Rights and Health, stemming from his years with international NGOs.

His policy interests include: Energy, Energy Efficiency and Conservation and Climate Change.
