Mining film night posterFollowing on from our very successful 'To Mine or Not to Mine' public debate, Catherine will present a series of short films and slides highlighting the threats to our most precious conservation lands from mining.

There will be a screening of Prospects, a 25 min film by Alister Barry about the successful campaign that Coromandel activists waged in the 1980s, to protect that unique peninsula from gold-mining. Catherine will also present a short film clip about Paparoa National Park and a slideshow of photographs taken during Catherine and Metiria Turei's recent tours of threatened places and communities in the Coromandel and Paparoa.

There will be an opportunity for questions and a discussion about how to write a submission opposing the Government's plans.
