As part of the nationwide day of action, the Auckland Greens will be setting up fake mining sites in the CBD. David Clendon, our Green MP will attend and speak. Meet on the grassy area opposite the Auckland Town Hall on Queen St at 12 noon.
The purpose of the activity is to raise public awareness of our campaign, and encourage people to get involved through signing the petition, making a submission, or attending the March Against Mining on Saturday 1 May.
We need willing volunteers to help with logistics, dress up as miners, and approach members of the public with the petition and submission guides. Please contact Lucy Hawcroft on 09 302 1067 or lucy [dot] hawcroft [at] parliament [dot] govt [dot] nz if you are able to help.
