What: Beach clean up, cigarette butt count and BBQ When: Meet at 6pm, Weds 10 March 2010 Where: Splash Gordon Dive Shop, 432 The Esplanade, Island Bay, Wellington Green Party Fisheries Spokesperson, Gareth Hughes, will join South Wellington residents for a beach cleanup between Owhiro Bay and Island Bay this evening. "Litter from this beach blows and washes into Taputeranga Marine Reserve which is home to over 180 species of fish. It is my pleasure to be part of the message that it is our responsibility to take care of our environment," Mr Hughes said today. The public is welcome to join Mr Hughes to help look after Wellington's beaches. There will be a BBQ and awards for all participants at the end.
