THIS WEEK ON BACK BENCHES: Watch Wallace Chapman, Daniel Faitaua, the Back Benches Panel and special guests discuss the week's hottest topics!

  1. NARK! NO ONE LIKES A TATTLETALE, EXCEPT WHEN IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT: Our child abuse record is pretty shocking but even more shocking is the anti-nark culture that means many never face charges. How do we combat the anti-nark culture? Why are people so unwilling or afraid to speak out? Do we need to change the law so it's a crime not to report child abuse? Or is that just window dressing?

  1. SPEAK IT!: Should Maori Language be compulsory for secondary school teachers to speak te reo? What about the students? Or is the suggestion, as Don Brash says, racist?

  1. SOAPBOX: We have a segment called SOAPBOX—where a member of the public has time to speak out on a particular topic important to them. JAMES STEWART of KICK IT. He will talk about kicking the smoking habit. We will follow with a discussion about smoking cessation.

  1. A TIPPLE OR FOUR: There was another statistic this past weekend when a young man died after drinking too much. Meanwhile, hospital emergency departments are overrun by the over-served who are violent, abusive time-suckers that are a drain on our system. We know it is a problem but what are we really doing about it?

Join us for a night of LIVE pub politics from the Backbencher Pub: Wednesday, 15th of June. Our Panel: Green Party Co-Leader Metiria Turei, Labour MP Carmel Sepuloni, and National MP Simon Bridges.
