Welcome to Good Farm Stories, a project initiated by Jeanette Fitzsimons to showcase innovative farms pioneering sustainable practices. All the farmers here are passionate about their farms, and are thinking deeply, long-term and outside the square. Their stories are rich in knowledge and ideas and we are grateful for their courage and generosity in sharing them.

We hope that other farms will be inspired and build on this knowledge and experience. None of these innovations reduce profitability and most of them increase it, particularly in the longer term. We have not attempted to judge any particular farm as sustainable or not. Some use practices the Green Party does not necessarily support, but our purpose here is to highlight the positive and encourage sustainable thinking and practice as farming in NZ continues to evolve.

We welcome your feed back on the site and the stories. Please send to goodfarmstories@greens.org.nz
