The Green Room: Monday 31st October 7pm

The Green Party is mounting a challenge to the John Key/Phil Goff election debate on TVNZ by holdingan interactive online programme called the Green Room at the same time.

At 8.30pm following the televised debate, TV1's Finlay McDonald will conduct an in-depth interview with Green Party Co-leaders Russel Norman and Metiria Turei. This is preceeded by a 90 minute panel discussion, with David Slack, Irene Pink, Nandor Tanczos with a special appearance by Michelle A'Court. Experts joining the panel will include business commentator Bernard Hickey, economist Raf Manji, and Principals Federation President Peter Simpson, and musican and environmental activist Steve Abel.

The Green Room will be screened live on greens.org.nz at 7pm on Monday 31st October.

The Green Party's opening broadcast, directed by the talented Scott Hindman, and featuring music gifted to us by Jess Chambers, Rebs, and Richie Singleton the Rebel Peasant (and of Phoenix Foundation fame) is screening on the telly tonight!

Tune in to TV1 from 7.30pm to see the 3 major parties' broadcasts.

Hot talent ready to join our team in Parliament

Meet two more of the lovely candidates we'd love to have working for you in Parliament's 50th term. Jan Logie is from Paekakariki by way of Invercargill, and she currently works as Development Manager for Sustainable Cities. She's passionate about reducing inequality and working towards a fair and sustainable society, and with your votes she'll be able to direct her passions and skills into making a real difference to our country.

Denise Roche is an Aucklander born and bred, and comes to us from a diverse background of local body politics, unions, journalism, and aged care. She cares passionately about the environment, and her expertise in waste sector reform are a great asset to the party.

Help us remind people to vote

We have thousands of mobile numbers at the ready and are planning a text campaign for election day reminding people to head to the polls. At 20c a text, that adds up!
