Rebuilding the second largest regional economy in New Zealand is an issue of national significance. How can we rebuild Christchurch in a safer, more sustainable way?
After substantial public consultation, I've produced a report for Parliament and public consumption that pulls together an overarching vision for a future Christchurch — one that focuses on achieving strong, carbon neutral buildings and homes, and a central city rebuilt around green spaces, efficient public transport, and attractive walkways and cycleways.
Rebuilding Christchurch provides a great challenge but there is scope for building a better, more sustainable city if we make the right decisions now.

Keep it Kiwi
Selling off the businesses that New Zealanders own together would mean more foreign ownership and less accountability to what's best for New Zealanders. It'd also mean more profits shifting offshore.
