I visited the Mokau River on my Dirty (and Threatened) Rivers Rafting Tour this summer to try to save the river, and the native freshwater fish that live in it, from a dam.
Just this week, King Country Energy has backed down on their plans to dam this precious river.
Two thirds of our native freshwater fish species are threatened or at risk so every success like this is important.
