The international debt crisis has highlighted the issue of debt vulnerability here in New Zealand.
As a small, open economy, we need to manage our debt even more wisely than our OECD peers. Yet the Government has been complacent about debt management, and has failed to steer our economy towards greater savings and productivity.
The Green Party would reduce our reliance on debt while incentivising a shift to a clean green economy that works for everyone.
