Kia ora The Green Party believes we need to invest now to build a smart, green economy that will create jobs and prosperity for all. The Government's spending and tax decisions should support fairness and environmental sustainability, while responsibly managing debt. Unfortunately, the current Government is borrowing over a billion dollars a year to build low-value motorways and another billion a year for the 2010 tax changes, while claiming that cuts to vital public services are unavoidable. The Greens are challenging the Government to justify why it is prioritising borrowing for tax cuts and unnecessary motorways. New Zealanders deserve to get the most value for our tax dollars and investment in a smart, green economy.
