The Government released its pre-election economic update this week and it showed that its books are in bad shape. This is a result of their policy of tax cuts for the rich and mounting debt for the rest of the country.
The Treasury is predicting growing public debt until at least 2016. This really throws into question the National Government's management of the economy.
We need to transition to a smart green economy that works for everyone. The Green Party has a plan to get us there - this includes setting up a fair tax system that includes a capital gains tax (excluding the family home), and creating 100,000 green jobs through business incentives and Government leadership.
