The rebuild of Christchurch can be done in a way that meets four overarching principles — resilience, sustainability, harmony and beauty.
We've just released a report that shows the fastest, fairest, and most economically sensible way for New Zealand to rebuild the livelihoods of those in Christchurch is to introduce a temporary earthquake levy on those who can most afford it.
Rebuilding Christchurch provides a great challenge but there is scope for building a better, more sustainable city if we make the right decisions.

Kennedy Graham, Green MP
