Students for Environmental Action are hosting Metiria Turei to speak about fresh water issues. Additionally the film longfin will be screened.  To receive an email or txt reminder on the day of the talk email either email or a cellphone number to greenmps.dunedin@greens.org.nz with beneath the surface in the subject line.

Metiria has been taking her presentation "Beneath the Surface" around the country. It is a look at the threats facing NZ's freshwater fish, particularly our long and short finned eels (tuna).  She will cover the threats to our native freshwater fish and the measures being taken to protect them.  Metiria will also share some of the positive stories from the many events she has spoken at at projects she has visited during her tour.

Meanwhile Meridian has been threating to dam the Mokihinui one of NZ's valuable wild rivers. There will be an opportunity to find out about the campaign to save the Mokihinui.
