Background

Mojo was born in London and moved to New Zealand at the age of 14. She has a strong kiwi identity and is mother to three children born in New Zealand. She has worked as a Parliamentary Advisor on water issues and been joint-director of a small business offering forestry management services. As someone who lives with a significant impairment (Mojo is profoundly deaf), she has a particular empathy for people who, for whatever reason, face structural and/or attitudinal obstacles to accessing their rights. Mojo is also mother of three children.

Achievements

Mojo has a 1st Class Honors degree in Mathematics; and a Masters in Conservation Forestry.

Community involvements

A founding member of Malvern Hills Protection Society, Mojo is currently active in opposing the proposed Central Plains Water scheme. She was the secretary and spokesperson for the Dam Action Group (2001-2004), and has also been a Playcentre committee member and a New Mothers Support Group facilitator. She has strong connections with her local Waitaha iwi.

Mojo has a particular interest in forestry, climate change, and healthy living. She is motivated by a deep appreciation and love for the planet and its diverse inhabitants.
