Tomorrow is Bike to Work Day and Green Party MP Sue Kedgley will be joined on a three-seater bicycle - a thrice-icle - by New Zealand mountain bike legends Paul Kennett and Robert Ashe as she (re)cycles herself to breakfast at Civic Square - and beyond.

Ms Kedgley will be leaving from outside the Fisherman's Table restaurant on Oriental Parade at 8am and demonstrating that cycling can be fun for both the fit and the more philosophical.

"For many people, cycling is a perfect way to get around the city. Compared to driving to work, bikes are often quicker, they're cheaper and they're better for you," Ms Kedgley says.

"If Wellington is to achieve the City Council's vision of becoming the first carbon-neutral capital in the world, biking to work is exactly the sort of activity that we should be encouraging.

"I will be demonstrating that you don't have to be a fitness fanatic to bike to work. In fact, this is probably just the type of green - revolution that New Zealand needs.
