Smart Economics

The Sustainable Economics Conference was held by the Green Party in Parliament on November 12, 2010.

The Conference, attended by some 250 people, was highly rated for generating a dialogue among the public and across political parties on 'sustainability' as a political goal and ecological economics as a possible macro-economic framework. David Suzuki was the keynote speaker. All MPs were invited and National's Nick Smith and Labour's David Cunliffe participated on the final panel.

Many participants have enquired about follow-up to the Conference, and this is the first step. The aim is to continue discussion on these issues. Your comments will be posted here over time.
