Making your voice heard on New Zealand's emissions reduction target

The government wants comments on New Zealand's emissions reduction target. This is the commitment we make to the rest of the world going into the climate change negotiations in Copenhagen this December. It's a single number, like 40% by 2020, and it shouldn't be confused with the numbers and debate around how we, here in New Zealand, will get to that target (that’s our emissions trading scheme). We need to agree on our target first and then work on the detail of our ETS.

See below for the list of public meetings and venues.

We urge you to attend one of the meetings to have your say or cheer on those who share your views. If you can’t make it, you can email a written submission to nick [dot] smith [at] ministers [dot] govt [dot] nz (subject: Submission%20on%20New%20Zealand's%202020%20Emissions%20Target%20Policy"><u><span style: "color: ) Public meetings
