In Auckland, the Green Party’s top priority is to give the city a world class public transport system, and make life easier for cyclist and pedestrians. This is an urgent matter, with oil prices rising and Aucklanders look to reduce their travel by car.

Research shows s59 law having positive impact - Greens

New research out today shows that few parents believe physical discipline is the most effective way of bringing up children.

“I welcome this first substantive research on the impacts of the s59 law change since my private member’s bill went through last year,” says Green Party Children’s Issues Spokesperson Sue Bradford.

Public demonstration against the Basin Reserve flyover

Despite public consultation urging against the Basin Reserve flyover, the Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) has recently agreed on plans that would see construction begin in 2011/12. Of the submissions received by the GWRC regarding the flyover, 79% did not support its construction. Wellingtonians have been ignored.
