Green MPs at "Meet the Sea Lions"
All welcome to join Green marine spokesperson Metiria Turei MP at this Forest and Bird event. New Zealand Sealions are protected under the Wildlife Act but many are caught and killed by the squid fishing industry. The government must take a stronger stance in protecting this species from the impacts of fishing.

Tēnā koutou katoa. I am pleased to stand for the Greens this evening in support of the Resource Management (Requiring Authorities) Amendment Bill. A relatively small change is being proposed to what is a very substantial piece of legislation. Nevertheless, it effects a very useful and positive change to the Act as it stands.
