Sue Kedgley's bill, the Animal Welfare (Treatment of Animals) Amendment Bill has been drawn from the member's ballot and will be debated in parliament very soon. Sue explains in this week's video how her legislation will put an end to cruel factory farming methods used in New Zealand - farming methods which cause suffering to millions of animals.
Animal welfare groups such as SAFE, WSPA and the SPCA have expressed their strong support for the bill.
Sue will launch this bill with support from the big animal welfare groups on 8 September in Wellington.
