Come join the Tāmaki Makaurau campaign for our campaign launch and fundraiser!
Tēnā koutou,
Green Party candidate Darleen Tana and whānau of Piritahi marae welcome you to join us overnight in Waiheke to launch our Tāmaki Makaurau campaign & welcome in Matariki, the Māori New Year.
We will wānanga, learn waiata, unearth cooked kai as a gift to Matāriki (a hautapu) and practice tikanga māori by attending an early dawn karakia to commemorate our loved ones who have passed.
We welcome you to come and share in our tikanga, mātauranga and Māori magic in action to launch our 2023 Tāmaki Makaurau campaign. Tāmaki Herenga Waka, Tāmaki Herenga Tāngata, nau mai, whakapiri mai!
Koha is welcomed to help cover the costs of marae accommodation and kai (an estimate of $70pp). Registration is recommended as space will be limited.
Things to bring:
sleeping gear (mattresses, pillows, sheets, pillowcases provided)
personal toiletries
warm clothes
sunny disposition
