A ‘Green Tour of Ancient Egypt' Fundraiser Event
An evening of entertainment and intrigue awaits at Tāmaki Paenga Hira | Auckland War Memorial Museum as we journey from the Nile to Waihorotiu, bridging the waters and seeking hidden treasure within the Egypt: In the Time of Pharaohs exhibition.
Our relationship with water is integral to the way we live. Hapi, the Egyptian god of the Nile, is the lifebringer to ancient Egyptians, where its annual flooding brings much needed rejuvenation to the valley. Horotiu is the taniwha that resides in Waihorotiu, the river that runs underneath Queen Street, which was a gathering source of tangata whenua in the past. Now more than ever, our relationship with water is intricately tied to our goals for climate mitigation, sustainability, and environmental protection.
Come aboard one of our biggest fundraising waka for the Tāmaki Makaurau Greens.
