A first-term Councillor for Palmerston North City, Kaydee is an analyst, former legal secretary and business advisor with a wealth of experience in Matauranga Maori, resource management law, the Justice System and community arts. She has a knack for reading between the lines and getting to the heart of things.
The need to build community resilience against the effects of climate change and geo-political disruption to our supply chain motivated Kaydee to stand for Council, with a particular interest in the urban planning and food security spaces.
Kaydee is an avid hiker, birdwatcher, historian, and is kaitiaki of a 12 acre protected native remnant forest with a thriving population of native birds, frogs, fresh water koura, and glow worms. She is a permaculture enthusiast and with her family has established an extensive food forest on parts of her property, and has recently finished a project to re-wild the remaining 8 acres of pasture.
Kaydee is an approachable and positive representative who invests in the people who call Palmy home. She is committed to working collaboratively with Council and the community to balance the need for better services now, and a long term, sustainable vision for a resilient future for our children.
