The Green Party is focused on a rent-to-own scheme that will make home ownership a genuine choice for those least able to access it. It’s for people who can’t get into the housing market because of student debt, high rents, low wages, high housing costs, and high costs of raising a family. It’s for people who can pay their weekly rent, but can’t get ahead to save for a deposit.

Jan Logie has got world-first protections for people affected by domestic violence, including up to 10 days paid leave from work. Everyone should be able to live a life free of violence.
Mental Health pilot
We’ve secured $10.5m pilot to make sure young people have access to timely and high-quality mental health services. We’re proud to be taking the first steps to address the mental health crisis while the Mental Health inquiry works to establish a more comprehensive approach.
Putting the heart back into our social support system
We’ve been the driving force in parliament for welfare reform, making it a condition of our confidence and supply agreement. We look forward to making even more progress and especially the report of the Welfare Expert Advisory Group. Our welfare system should be one that treats people with dignity and respect and makes sure they have enough to live a decent life.

Budget 2018 began the important work to set up a new central agent to lead a national strategy to address family and sexual violence.
