  • Support our Future of Transport Plan

    September 29, 2020 12:58 PM · 658 reactions
To be frank, we are running out of time to address the climate crisis. Our Future of Transport Plan goes a long way to ensuring in New Zealand we do our bit to keep our planet stable.  We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make healthier, vibrant communities a reality while also tackling the climate crisis and rebuilding the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. By making smart decisions now, we can deliver truly fast, frequent, low-carbon transport alternatives that put our communities on the...

  • Take action to protect our oceans

    September 20, 2020 11:00 AM · 1270 reactions
We’re taking the health of our oceans seriously and our Thriving Oceans Plan sets out exactly how the Green Party will protect them so we all can enjoy them - now and in the future. Successive governments have allowed our oceans to become more under threat more than ever before in human history.  We know that in the aftermath of COVID-19, our recovery cannot be as simple as returning to “business as normal”. We need to invest in and build...

  • Supporting farmers to be part of the solution

    September 12, 2020 11:00 AM · 584 reactions
Our farmers are already leading the way toward climate-friendly agriculture - but governments must support them to go further, faster.   The Green Party knows that farmers can be part of how we reset our economy and build back better after COVID-19. By making good decisions about our recovery now, we can have a thriving, sustainable farming sector that is more profitable and reduces its impact on our climate, waterways, and nature. Our Farming for the Future Plan works with farmers...

  • It’s time to extend sick leave

    August 20, 2020 7:30 AM · 2201 reactions
Staying home when sick can defend us against community transmission of COVID-19. But we know that losing the income we rely on stops many of us from staying home if we have cold symptoms.  Five days of sick leave is not enough. The Green Party is calling for this to double to ten days, so people can do their part by staying home and reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19.

  • Let’s ditch fossil fuels once and for all

    July 12, 2020 11:17 AM · 2279 reactions
When all our energy comes from the sun, the wind, and the flow of rivers, we won’t need to burn the fossil fuels that cause the climate crisis. Our Clean Energy Plan is the first part of our transformational proposal to end the use of fossil-fuels in Aotearoa. It allows us to go further and faster on climate action by supporting all of us to move to clean energy. It empowers communities, businesses and families to create truly sustainable communities...

  • Support our Poverty Action Plan

    June 28, 2020 1:05 PM · 4057 reactions
Our Poverty Action Plan will completely change the way we support people in New Zealand so when people ask for help, they get it. It overhauls the broken welfare system and guarantees that everyone who needs it, no matter what, has a minimum income they can rely on.  Sign on to our plan to show your support for this bold policy for change.  Here’s how our Poverty Action Plan works for all of us: A Guaranteed Minimum Income of $325...
