  • Election Access Fund (Member’s Bill)

    January 01, 2018 12:00 PM
Chlöe Swarbrick MP's Election Access Fund Bill was written to support disabled people in accessing and participating in elections and standing for political office. It establishes a contestable fund that will be administered by the Electoral Commission. The Fund may be used by any disabled candidate to cover disability-related costs of standing in a general election. These costs could include:  NZSL interpreter support for candidate forums, notetaker or transcribing costs, costs of translating material into braille, or travel costs to attend candidate...

  • Medicinal Cannabis

    December 22, 2017 4:27 PM

Cheaper The Green Party will make electricity more affordable with winter energy payments for more than 500,000 lower-income households, to smooth out spikes in winter power bills. These will cover 75% of the average extra cost...

  • Tourism Levy

    August 23, 2017 11:42 AM
We believe our National Parks, rivers, beaches, and wildlife are our taonga and are worth fighting for. The Tourism Levy, a small contribution paid by international visitors, will bring in tens of millions of dollars to help protect our environment for generations to come. The Tourism Levy is a $20 increase on existing border charges for international visitors only. The policy began as a Green Party members' bill and has now been adopted as Government policy. The International Visitor Levy...
