Sustainable, resilient, zero-carbon future for our region.
I’m ready to serve our region having grown my passion, experience and empathy to make our region a climate resilient, nature-rich, safe and thriving place to live, work and play.
I’m proudly Burmese. My whānau came to Aotearoa in 1976 and Wellington is home.
I have always been politically active and motivated by issues of social justice and climate action. Growing up, my elders instilled the value and importance of serving our community; and it was the least we could do as tauiwi to support the aspirations of tangata whenua.
From producing and presenting music stories on the radio, to serving on many boards, committees and trusts since my late teens, I have gained a deep understanding of strategic planning, regulatory compliance, financial management, and the importance of working together.
Our region needs urgent action around climate, transport and resiliency. Good decisions today are crucial for our tomorrow.
I’m committed to:
- Accelerating GWRC’s work towards making our region a sustainable, liveable, zero-carbon future.
- Greening up vulnerable areas of our region to protect us from extreme weather events. Restoring underground rivers and streams are crucial to prevent flood damage, erosion and subsidence.
- Boost infrastructure projects that encourage active modes of transport - more walking and cycling!
- Upholding and honouring mana whenua’s relationship with GWRC.
- Free public transport.
