Green Candidates confirmed for Palmerston North City Council 2022

Emerging from an energetic selection meeting, we’re pleased to announce that Kaydee Zabelin and Brent Barrett are your Green Party candidates for Palmerston North City Council.

Mother-of-two and former legal professional and senior business advisor, Kaydee is a familiar face in the local theatre scene.  She’s passionate about sustainable lifestyles, family-friendly cities, nature and communities.

Brent, a scientist and environmental advocate, has served two terms on Council.  He’s keen to keep advancing environmental sustainability and climate-smart opportunities for the city.

Kaydee and Brent are two powerful change-makers that we need at City Council to help address the twin challenges of climate crisis and rising inequality.

We know that there are plenty of people out there who are tired of the status quo, and who want to see more action happening to create climate solutions and an equitable future where everyone lives in respect and dignity.

We’ve seen the Greens making change in local government here and overseas, where Green candidates have spoken up, stood up and promised to represent people on the issues that matter.

Now it's our turn, and there’s just 60 days until the election.

We’re asking you to reach out to your networks and help rally a strong supportive campaign leading into the Council elections.

This can be as simple as talking to friends, one-off volunteering to support events, meeting new voters, or helping financially support the campaign - whatever way you feel most able and comfortable to be part of the Green team.

Let us know how you would like to support our local Green Party candidates into Palmerston North City Council.  Get in touch via [email protected] or [email protected].
