What would it mean to fix this economy, so the rules support our money circulating around our own communities, investing in the spaces and infrastructure that ensure we’re all happier, healthier, safer and having more fun?

If we look at experiences around the world, as well as evidence internationally and here at home, it’s clear that a more thriving local economy requires a fairer tax system, and tackling mega-corporate greed and market power consolidation.

We can do this. Other countries have. But it’s not going to spontaneously just happen. Aucklanders and New Zealanders have to decide that we want change, and we have to make it happen.

Come along and talk with Chlöe Swarbrick about building a local economy for all of us and hear from local business owners doing cool things:

  • Yael Shochat - Ima Cuisine

  • Lucy Macrae - co-owner of Whammy Bar

  • Chris Duncan - textile artist

  • Trav Mischewski - Kārearea construction

You can also tell us your thoughts on what would make a better local economy here.
