A pragmatic progressive, Brent has served on Council since 2016.  He’s empathetic, responsive and committed to listening, building trust and backing evidence-based, future-focused decisions.  

Proud of the city he calls home, Brent’s an agricultural scientist who’s lived in Palmerston North since immigrating to New Zealand in 2000.  He loves community involvement, being in nature, good reads, tramping and beach walks.  He’s often seen riding a bike or on the bus for everyday local journeys.

Recent contributions at council include the move toward a fairer rating system, new cycleways, the city's improved all-electric bus network, funding of community services and facilities and tackling emissions. He champions local democratic control over essential services, safer city centre speeds, containing urban sprawl and limiting central government interference in local communities.
