Kia ora!

Got kids? Handy with power tools? Want to change the Government? Or maybe you just want to meet some people in Hutt South who also care about their community and want to make a difference?

If you answered 'yes' for any of those, join us at the Pito One Depot for day filled with kai, activities for kids and the rapid assembly and installation of a large number of election hoardings across the Hutt South electorate!

This isn't a formal meeting. In fact, it's barely even a meeting! It's a chance to get to know the people with a shared vision a better future for our tamariki.

We're looking to get two things out of the day:

  1. Put up a heap of signs - many hands make light work! Election signs work - we know more people will vote to change the Government when they see signs, well, everywhere. But no-one wants to spend days building wooden frames. Hutt South is full of friends, supporters, allies (even a few comrades) who want to change the Government just as much as we do. The more who help, the easier and faster the job will be.
  2. Meet a whole bunch more of you, especially people with young kids - we've been hard at work for a while now on this election campaign, and time and again, we keep hearing that people want to help but just can't spare the time because they're either working or taking care of kids. The answer to that is to bring your kids!

We've got a heap of activities planned for kids aged 0-12 including:

  • arts and crafts
  • BUBBLES
  • dance parties
  • pavement art
  • story time
  • board and card games
  • much, much more!

If you're interested in volunteering, want to meet other people who really just can't wait for a change of government or just want something fun to do with the kids, come and join us! Everyone is welcome, kai is free and if all you want to do is hang out and chat, that's up to you!

If you do want to get your hands dirty, affirm your masculinity or have had enough of flatpack furniture and want to take it to the next level, we'll have experienced people leading crews for just a couple of hours to put up signs.

We also have loads of opportunities to try out volunteering in other ways. You can try door knocking, sign up to call voters from your couch or learn more about the thousand and one other ways people are helping everyday to get more Green MPs in Parliament and change the government.

No experience required. Just bring yourself, your friends, your whole family, whoever you like! Stay for an hour or for the whole day.
