Kahurangi has a natural ability to connect, lead, and communicate with people. She is passionate about kaitiakitanga and the environment in Aotearoa me te Wai Pounamu, New Zealand. Kahurangi wants to ensure that all New Zealanders are able to access Aotearoa’s natural taonga, and grow an appreciation of the natural world.
A dynamic strategic thinker with proven relationship, project management and stakeholder engagement skills and experience across the public, private and not for profit sectors. Most notably as the National Manager for Para Kore (dedicated to deepening connection to Ranginui and Papatūānuku and waste minimisation from a Te Ao Māori worldview). Currently a Senior Strategic Partnerships Advisor for the Ministry for the Environment (creating bold fast track pathways to address climate change and increase biodiversity). Kahurangi knows when we heal the whenua, we will also heal the people. The work that the Green Party is leading aligns with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and will no doubt make a significant and positive impact on Aotearoa. Kahurangi is excited to be part of this mahi to ensure her children’s children can swim in our rivers, collect kai from our moana and take pride in our unique biodiversity.
