Lauria Foon lives in Berhampore with her whānau and previously served as Deputy Mayor of Te-Whanganui-a-tara.

As a former local business owner who pioneered ethical fashion in Aotearoa, Laurie works to help businesses make positive environmental and social impacts.

Enjoying local government work for its community connection and strategic decision-making. She has collaborated with our communities and worked alongside our Tākai Here partners to ensure we align on our city's direction.

Laurie is an advocate for climate action, supporting the circular sludge treatment plant, the city-wide bike network, and ambitious housing plans near the city centre. Her efforts have also led to the town centre upgrades in Berhampore and Island Bay.

She is committed to completing inner-city cycleway connections, implementing a kerbside organics collection, and revitalising our economy by boosting our tech and innovation sectors.
