Te Rōpū Pounamu is the nationwide network of Māori Green Party members. Te Rōpū Pounamu actively advocates for te ao Māori in all Green Party processes, policies and practices. This advocacy supports the commitment of the Green Party to Te Tiriti o Waitangi as the founding document of Aotearoa New Zealand, and acknowledgement of Māori as tangata whenua as set out in the Green Party Charter.
