Whānau a Kai, Ngāti Oneone, Te Aitanga ā Mahaki, Rongowhakaata, Ngāi Tāmanuhiri

As an activist and researcher for almost 40 years, I have focused on kaupapa Māori and Te Tiriti issues. As a leader and mentor within Rainbow, suicide prevention and youth development sectors for over 30 years, I have represented human rights issues overseas, including at the UN. I work on local and national projects across mental health, violence prevention, indigenous human rights and youth development. My artwork hangs in the Rainbow Room in Parliament and at the UN in New York. Check out www.takatapui.nz for examples of my work.

Ikaroa-Rāwhiti stretches from the top of the East Coast down to the Hutt Valley, taking in the Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Remutaka. Your donation will help me travel the region to share our Green values and to hear from communities and whānau, hapū and iwi about what they want to see in the world.
