Saturday 19 July | 3:00–5:00pm | Te Mātauranga Māori @ Ara institute
Followed by drinks and pizza at Space Academy
We ask if people can please arrive 10mins early as we’ll be invited onto the wharenui with a whakatau and want to ensure we are ready to go at 3pm.
Kia ora e te whānau,
In times of change and challenge, our stories keep us grounded. They remind us of who we are, what we stand for, and the communities we carry with us. This wānanga is a space to reflect, connect, and grow our confidence to speak up — for ourselves, our people, and the futures we believe in.
Across the motu, communities are feeling the impact of decisions being made — and many of us are looking for ways to respond with clarity and aroha. Sharing our stories is one of the most powerful tools we have. It helps others understand what’s at stake, shows that change is possible, and invites people in.
Together, we’ll:
-
Reflect on how politics shows up in our everyday lives
-
Explore how to tell our stories in ways that are authentic and impactful
-
Build confidence and connection through small group kōrero
Then after that well have short panel with guests who will do a bit of their own storytelling and then well have a short Q + A session. (please note due to conflicting schedules we've had to pivot this workshop, however we will touch on the rsb and there will be space to ask questions at the Q + A)
All are welcome. Come as you are. Bring a friend. We’ll have a bit of kai, good company — and afterwards, we’ll head to Space Academy for pizza and drinks.
If you need an interpreter, we’re happy to provide one — just get in touch to request.
Ngā manaakitanga,
The outreach team
