Climate change is already being felt by communities. Severe weather, with more frequent flooding, and more frequent droughts, have already led to devastating consequences. Left unaddressed, this will only get worse - exposing people and the lands they live on to avoidable harm.  

Under the leadership of a Green Minister for Climate Change, emissions began to drop. However, the current Government is knowingly making choices to take us off that track. 

This plan presents a better path, one that steers us towards a world we would be proud to pass on to our mokopuna. The Green Party recognises that reducing emissions must go hand in hand with restoring biodiversity, upholding Te Tiriti, and ensuring everyone has what they need to live a decent life.  

The initiatives in this plan outline the choices Aotearoa can make now to begin to build a better tomorrow.
