Julie Anne believes that we can end poverty and inequality in Rongotai, and make sure everyone has enough to put food on the table, a safe place to call home, and can live a decent life.

Aotearoa is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. But too many children in Rongotai are going to bed hungry. Families are struggling to pay the rent or mortgage and keep their homes warm. Students are forced to skip meals to make ends meet because of Wellington's high living costs.

The money we need to lift every family out of poverty is already there. But successive National and Labour governments have decided not to use it. This is a political choice.

Julie Anne Genter and the Greens will work to end poverty and inequality in Rongotai.

Our plan:

  • Tax-free threshold on the first $10,000 of income
  • Family top-up payment for every child
  • Minimum income guarantee of $385 a week
  • And a 2.5% wealth tax on the wealthiest 0.7% to pay for it all
