đˇ Health precautions
- Many of the infectious diseases that have been circulating in our community are spread and caught through the air, so gatherings are risky. Measles is one current outbreak across the country. There has also been a recent increase in meningitis deaths, caused by strep, flu, or bacterial infections. There are ongoing COVID and respiratory illness outbreaks. So we're taking these steps to minimise transmission and post-infection diseases/conditions:
-
Mask up:Â This is a respirator-recommended event. Rimu will have a supply available.
- We recommend wearing a K/N95/P2 respirator or elastomeric mask as much as you can.
- Ventilate:Â No information available
- Clean air:Â No information available
-
Test: Most transmission occurs without symptoms, so please stay home if you're symptomatic or have been in contact with an infection-positive person in the past week. Locations of interest are available for measles.
- RATs are available for purchase at most pharmacies. Remember, you can trust a positive result but not a negative one.
If you have access to them, please get all your vaccine boosters, as this keeps more severe symptoms at bay.
Feel free to email if you have any concerns or suggestions for making this a safer and more accessible experience.
