Join us for a warm, inclusive workshop to learn how to submit your opposition to the Treaty Principles Bill. Together, we’ll stand against this proposed legislation that threatens Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori rights.
Why this matters:
Recently, thousands of people came together from across the motu and marched to Parliament in a powerful hīkoi, voicing their opposition and calling for justice.
The Treaty Principles Bill undermines Tangata Whenua and the principles of partnership, participation and protection at the heart of Aotearoa. Submissions are open until 7 January so now's the time to make sure your voice is heard.
Submissions go to a Select Committee who consider the feedback and make recommendations on the Bill to the Government. This is one of the key ways that we can have a say and encourage the Committee to chuck the Bill out.
What to expect:
- Learn the submission process step by step.
- Get support in crafting your submission.
- Connect with others who care about protecting Te Tiriti.
All are welcome—no formal experience needed!
