The City Centre of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is at a tipping point. We can plan and make the investment necessary for thriving, people-friendly streets, a flourishing local economy and interwoven community. Or, we can leave it up to chance.

One of the many critical features of such a cityscape is venues of different shapes and sizes, to host and grow local talent and attract international talent (when that is, once again, possible!). The St James Theatre fits the bill of exactly what we’ve been missing – a medium to larger sized space for those who want to go a bit bigger than the Town Hall but wouldn’t fit Spark Arena. It’s also steeped in history and happens to have an enviable address, sat between Queen Street’s Civic and our Central Library!

Join the man with the keys, Steve Bielby and Auckland Central MP Chlöe Swarbrick to learn how we can revive this sleeping giant and mobilise to make it happen.

For sake of organising this community hui as effectively as possible, please register, and we’ll send out a Zoom link on Wednesday 15 September, so keep an eye on your emails!
