Overseas enrolment and voting
If you're overseas, you'll need to be 18 years or older, have lived in New Zealand for more than 12 months continuously at some time in your life and either be:
A New Zealand citizen who has been in New Zealand within the last 3 years
OR
A New Zealand resident for electoral purposes* who has been in New Zealand within the past 12 months.
*You're a resident for electoral purposes if you’re in New Zealand legally and not required to leave within a specified time.
International voting opens on Wednesday October 21. In some countries you'll be able to vote in-person at an overseas polling place, like an embassy or consulate. Otherwise, you can cast your vote online or post it to your nearest overseas voting place.
You can find out more information about overseas voting here.
The Aotearoa Greens Global (a party network made up of overseas members) has more information here.
