Craig Pauling (he/him) Banks Peninsula

Kia ora, ko Craig Pauling ahau, he uri au nō Ngāi Tahu me Ngāti Mutunga.

I’ve spent my career in challenging and contested spaces - working alongside communities, and across iwi, local and central government and the private sector. Throughout, I have built a track record of outcomes by holding to my values and championing environmental restoration, te tiriti partnership, community needs, and economic realities.

I served two terms as an elected councillor on Environment Canterbury, including as both Deputy and Chair. I’m a qualified RMA Hearings Commissioner, and have expertise in climate resilience, freshwater, mahinga kai, conservation, biodiversity, waste and resource management.

I’m values and outcomes driven, and what matters most to me is working hard to turn our values into practical and enduring solutions and change.
