Kahu Carter (she/her/ia) Christchurch Central

Ngaati Maniapoto, Tainui. I have been a Green MP since 2023 and am making a serious play for the Christchurch Central electorate this year. Christchurch Central won 19% of the party vote in 2023 and the incumbent MP is standing down. 

From a young age, my mother instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility to protect Papatūānuku and serve the community. Growing up, I didn’t always make good decisions, but I always had good decisions available to me. I want every child in Aotearoa to have that same privilege.

In the words of my tupuna Rewi Maniapoto, "Ka whawhai tonu maatau"—we will fight on forever and ever and ever.
