Prior to becoming an MP I worked as a climate consultant and also ran the Otago Home Upgrade Programme for Aukaha Ltd. I was a  member of the ‘Innovation and Participation Advisory Group’ at the Electricity Authority, General Manager of Blueskin Energy Ltd, Chair of the Energy Committee at the Otago Chamber of Commerce, and Trustee on the Cosy Homes Trust. As an MP I hold the Energy, Rural Communities, Regional Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hunting & Fishing, and other portfolios. I am committed to the decentralisation, democratisation and decarbonisation of our energy sector, rural revitalisation and more birdsong!
