I am the MP for Rongotai, spokesperson for Transport, Urban Development, Building & Construction, State Owned Enterprises, and a mum of two.

Julie Anne Genter (she/her/ia) Wellington Bays

This year, I’m campaigning to give Wellington Bays a Green beginning, and ensure our next government delivers the transformational changes we need.

I’ve been a Green MP for over 14 years, and had the privilege of being the first Green MP for Rongotai. I'm currently the party spokesperson for Transport, Building and Construction, Urban development, State Owned Enterprises, Infrastructure and Economic Development.

From 2017-2020, I was Minister for Women and Associate Minister of Transport and Health. In these roles, I spearheaded the Clean Car Discount and increased funding for maternity services and midwives. I delivered the biggest annual reduction in the public sector gender pay gap in 20 years, and a world-leading approach to pay equity that was helping people in female-dominated professions finally get fair pay.

If re-elected as MP for Wellington Bays, I will continue to work for affordable housing and transport, clean energy, and a better quality of life for all.

Atop all of this, I love being a mother. I’m driven by a future in Aotearoa where our children live happy, healthy lives in harmony with nature. Community is the solution to so many of our challenges - it's how we will build resilience.
