Alma De Anda (she/her)
Alma is naturally curious, with broad experience in zoology, ecology, and reproductive justice - specifically bodily autonomy and abortion access.
Alma earned a B.S. in Zoology and a M.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior, with a focus on monarch butterfly conservation and citizen-science research. Alma has co-authored several academic papers and book chapters on monarch butterfly conservation.
Furthermore, Alma is currently Abortion Rights Aotearoa's (ALRANZ) Co-President, which focuses on expanding abortion access throughout the motu after it was decriminalised in 2020. People deserve a healthy planet to live in if and when they choose to become parents.
Alma is looking forward to forming relationships with diverse communities who aren't typically part of the Green Party and bridging communities to increase the party vote. Alma is looking forward to campaigning with the full support of her husband, children, and dog Ruthie.
